阎连科，1958年出生于河南嵩县的一个偏穷小镇，1978年应征入伍，1985年毕业于解放军艺术学院文学系。1978年开始写作，主要作品有长篇小说《日光流年》、《坚硬如水》等7部；小说集《年月日》、《耙耧天歌》等10余部；另有《阎连科文集》5卷。曾先后获第一、第二届鲁迅文学奖和其他全国、全军性文学奖20余次。其作品被评为多种语言，是中国当代最为重要的作家之一。
